Dear Sabri, I watched with interest your movie.

The object looks robust. Make sure the V shapes inside are locked in their position and the top piece is resting precisely on them.
Do you think it would be possible to sit also on the high side without damages?

The velcro system looks good and I want to know if you think to use it for the entire set of furnitures. It would be good to have a coherent assembly technique for all the different pieces.

In the video the top part is divided in two pieces, is it possible to have it in one only? The length it would be about 185 cm. Is it a standard market dimension? Would it eventually be better to reduce the dimension of the two ends to fit into a more manageable size of one piece?
Of course the top part shouldn’t have the half cut on the bending wings. Better to compress the cardboard with a tool on the bending lines (from inside) to increase the strength of the piece and keep its integrity.

Regarding the usability, you need testing the mock up with a kid and see the response.

The width of the entire piece should be a compromise within the need of having stability and avoiding that the kids should be sitting opening the legs too much at the combo mode (unless you find a way to have a different width at that point).

Good work anyway, keep going. Looking forward to see the next 🙂

    Hello Prof,
Yes, the V shapes inside are locked with another support at the bottom which limits them to be expandable too much.
I was thinking of making the structure flexible for usage on all surfaces too.
I have not confirm the velcro system but once i get them tested then i will consider. I also have in mind permanent joints but this limits the size of the structure and some innovative aspects like foldability and easy storage issues will be lost.
With regards to the two piece part, I made it that way so that it is easy to assemble and adjust. If its too long, it is difficult to control the tensions as we adjust according to the contours. The market standard length that i got was a maximum of 150cm in length.
I will try to refine the dimensions and the sizing to see if allows the reduction of parts.
Once im done with the velcro strips, i will have my neighbour’s 5year old daughter to test the product. I will document the process.
Ouhh yahh, the part on ‘kids should be sitting opening the legs too much at the combo mode’ i am still thinking about it too. I also thought it would be a minus point for the design. For this, i will do some refinements and maybe trim the mid section of the design for leg space.
    Thank you for the feedback.
    🙂
